Job Description

Adams & Martin Group is partnering with a respected California-based law firm to identify a Junior Litigation Assistant for its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career legal professional seeking hands-on litigation experience and a clear path for professional growth.

The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to litigation and a strong desire to develop their legal support skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys and litigation staff.
  • Assist with drafting and formatting pleadings, motions, discovery, declarations, and other legal documents.
  • Support state court e-filing and document filing processes.
  • Track case deadlines, court dates, and docketing information.
  • Organize and maintain case files, correspondence, and electronic records.
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy, formatting, and completeness.
  • Assist with trial and arbitration preparation, including exhibits, binders, and case materials.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, charts, and other case-related reports.
  • Coordinate attorney travel and assist with administrative projects as needed.
  • Accurately record billable time and utilize firm technology platforms and document management systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Junior Paralegal preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of California state court e-filing procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent proofreading, organizational, and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat) and document management systems such as NetDocuments.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow within the legal profession.
